Full Load Current Calculator for Transformer

The transformer full load current calculator can be used to determine the transformer’s full load current by entering the primary and secondary side voltage.

Selecting the transformer’s kVA rating and phase type (single-phase or three-phase) are basic requirements.

Formula

For Single Phase

IP= KVA Rating/VP

IS= KVA Rating/VS

For Three Phase

IP= KVA Rating/(√3 x VP)

IS= KVA Rating/(√3 x VS)

Where,

VP – Primary Voltage

VS – Secondary Voltage

IP – Primary Current

IS – Secondary Current

Turns ratio calculator for Transformer

The transformer voltage ratio is the proportion of primary to secondary voltage which is equal to the ratio of number of turns in primary & secondary side.

Turn Ratio = VP/VS = NP/NS
