What is KVA?
Kilovolt-ampere, also known as kVA, is a unit that is used to measure apparent power in electric circuits.
- In DC circuits, one kilovolt ampere (kVA) is equal to one kilowatt (kW). This means that apparent power, which is measured in kVA, is the same as real power (measured in W or kW).
- In AC circuits kVA is most commonly used.
What is KW?
Kilowatts, abbreviated as kW, are a measure of electric power. It is a measurement of how quickly energy is transferred and its value is equivalent to one thousand Joules per second.
kVA To kW Formula:
Real Power (kW) = Apparent Power (kVA) × PF
