For volts-to-kilowatts conversion, insert current, voltage, and power factor.
Formula for converting volts to kilowatts in DC phase:
The voltage V in volts (V), multiplied by the current I in amps (A), divided by 1000, gives the power P in kilowatts (kW):
P = V × I/ 1000
Formula for converting volts to kilowatts in AC single phase:
The power factor PF times the current I in amps (A) times the voltage V in volts (V) times the current in kilowatts (kW) divided by 1000 gives the power P in kilowatts (kW):
P = PF × I × V / 1000
Formula for converting volts to kilowatts in AC Three phase:
The power P in kilowatts (kW) is equal to the square root of three times the power factor (PF), the current I in amps (A), the line-to-line RMS voltage VL-L in volts (V), and the voltage divided by 1000:
P = 3 PF X I X VL-L / 1000.
