A refrigeration tonne (TR) is a measure of power. It is defined as the energy required to melt or freeze 2000 pounds of ice every day, often known as one short tonne. The tonne is the most common unit of mass. A tonne of refrigeration is equivalent to approximately 12,000 BTU/h or 3.5 kW.

Kilowatt:

In the International System of Units, a kilowatt (kw) is a unit of power (SI). The watt, which was named after the Scottish inventor James Watt, is the foundation unit of the kilowatt. In accordance with SI units, the prefix kilo- indicates that a kilowatt is equivalent to one thousand watts or one thousand joules per second.

kW = RT × 3.5168525

Where,

KW – Kilowatt and

RT – Refrigerator Ton
