The kilowatt (kw) is a power unit in the International System of Units (SI). The Watt is the foundation unit of the kilowatt. In accordance with SI units, the kilowatt is equal to one thousand watts or one thousand joules per second.

Ton of refrigeration:

A refrigeration tonne (TR) is a unit of energy. It is the amount of energy necessary to melt or freeze one short tonne, or 2000 pounds, of ice per day. Typically, the tonne is a unit of mass. A tonne of refrigeration is equivalent to approximately 12,000 BTU/h, or 3.5 kW.

Formula:

RT = KW / 3.5168525

Where,

RT – Refrigerator ton and

KW – Kilowatt
